Premier League Spending Since 2003

Premier League football clubs have spent over £4.4bn since January 2003 as shown in the above map.

Deloitte Sports Business Group have produced the figures that show the amount football clubs have spent on buying players, with a break down of how much each individual club has spent. Chelsea and Manchester City, with their billionaire owners, unsurprinsingly top the chart, however, even the clubs at the bottom end of the chart, such as West Bromich Albion, have spent upwards of £60m.

It seems Premier League football clubs have not been as affected by the recession as other areas of business. BBC Sport reported on this story using the same figures from Deloitte.
